I believe that weddings should be filled with a variety of details and moments that are specifically unique to that day and that couple. I am constantly thinking of how an element of the wedding will look in the ever important photography. I believe in having moments that are made for the lenses of the camera, allowing for the story of the day to be unfolded. A moment that I love seeing is when the bride and groom are exiting from the chapel, church or reception for their send off. The smiles are always from ear to ear, from the bride and groom to their loved one’s surrounding them. We’ve seen it all, from rice to bubbles but I love wedding details that are just a bit different, which has me wondering, “What is the best option for Neal and I?”
I found three different ideas that I enjoy: Pennants, Ribbons and Sparklers. I thought this would be a fun wedding detail to throw out to my lovely blog readers out there.
Happy Friday everyone!

Belinda, one thing you might want to think about is how do ribbons, sparklers, or pennants play into your wedding’s overall theme? You may not have an over-arching theme, but think of it in terms of maybe your dress has some ribbon detail on it, or will there be a ribbon wrapped around each level of the cake and ribbons tied around the grip of the bouquets, in which case, I’d say go with ribbons. You have a very pizazz-y personality, which is fabulous, and I’m betting you’re going to have an equally fabulous dress with maybe some sparkle to it, which would lead me to say go with sparklers to match that.

That is good advice too keep in mind. While we may not be using tons of ribbons in decor per say, we will be using bright pops of color which is why I am thinking the ribbons could be a fun and bright surprise. But matching the dress is also a good idea…darn it!

Hey!
I was watching a soccer game and I thought of you, on the pennant note, what about flags? Each person could have a UK or a US flag representing you two coming together, and the photo would be amazing showing the two cultures and friends and families combining.. Just a random thought!

Erin,
That is too funny! I am thinking of doing flags for our engagement session this fall. I love the visual idea of both of us holding our flags. We could have the flags on the day of the wedding too, that’s another good idea. I also have some more fun props for the engagement session, but I’m going to hold a few secrets for myself.

A few people have suggested it, that is a fun idea to consider. I wish I could do a run through of all the options!
Cheers,
