A Single Girl's Hunt for Love

The Perfect Fit

Posted by: ZagFan04 on: July 7, 2009

I knew that I loved the story of Cinderella for a reason. As a young girl I was fascinated with the idea of finding love all through a perfect pair of shoes. (Which has lead to my ever growing collection of shoes.) After hunting high and low for the right fit in love her shoes arrive at her doorstep and low and behold they are the perfect fit. As we all know Cinderella and the Prince, fall madly in love and (of course) live happily ever after.

This, my reading audience, is of course a fairy tale and is not real life. There is however, a bit of truth here.

I believe (as idealist as it may seem) that when real love comes along, just like in a fairy tale, it will fit. The strengths and weaknesses get balanced out. Compromises are easy to make. Instead of thinking of what one is “giving up” you begin to think of all that you are gaining. Slowly but in true fashion love flourishes.

Many of you who have had one too many bad dates (or relationships) may scoff at this notion of perfect love or a perfect fit. But this single lady is an optimist. I have to be. Without the idea of my perfect fit inspiring me from one blind date to the next, then what is the point?

Of course, in real life when love comes along it will not just knock on my door like in Cinderella’s tale. Instead, I have to be willing to make some mistakes and find shoes that are not quite the perfect fit that way when I do I will know never to take them off.

(For all those single “Cinderellas out there, keep looking for that perfect fit.  You deserve nothing less than that!)

Going along with that, there are basic building blocks to finding “the perfect fit” shoes such as size, heel height, etc. If you don’t have a “list” of these things you require to find “the one” perfect shoe, the options can be overwhelming. Ultimately we may end up with something we made work so as to not leave empty handed but end up hurting ourselves in the end because we comprimised our basic needs. I get it, not only cause I love shoes, but I do desesrve what I want and nothing less!

P.S. I started my reading assignment ;)

I would like to punch several things in the face….

LOL

I love the idea of the elements of shoes being part of the “must haves” and “deal-breakers”. Keep up the homework.
